Obituary
Richard “Dick” E. Hunter, 83 of Zanesville, passed away at his residence, peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on May 11, 2022.
He was born on January 4, 1939, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Robert E. Hunter and Virginia Burton. Dick worked in refrigeration and as a mechanic for many years. He later worked and retired from LA Emert. In his spare time, he loved to fish and spend his time outdoors.
He is survived by his companion, Karen Stoneburner; children, Dinise Abbott, Charles Hunter, and Bobby Hunter; brother, James Hunter; sisters, Emily Collins, Margaret Stine; grandchildren, Amber Whipkey, Richard Abbott, Rob Hunter Jr., Sandy Calvert, Brandy Smith; great-grandchildren, Grace, Gunner, Lorelei, Carson, Toby, Andrew, Emily, Chaz, Christine, and Taylor; fur babies; Cindy and Eddie.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Lou Hunter; and son, Dicky Hunter.
Calling hours will be held on Friday May 13, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM with David Duff officiating. Burial will follow services at St. Paul Cemetery.
