Sarah J. Smith

Sarah Jolean Smith, 53 of Zanesville, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on March 24, 2024, at The James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born on March 10, 1971, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Albert Batross and Elizabeth (Shipman) Batross. Sarah was a graduate of Zanesville High School in 1989. She worked at Texas Roadhouse in Zanesville. In her spare time, she loved going to BINGO and fishing with her husband, Mike.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Mike Smith; sister, Debbie (Terry Chambers) Batross; brothers, Robert Batross, William (Sherri) Batross; nephew, Ryan (Marie) Batross; great-nephew, Greyson Batross; great-niece, Bryn Batross; God mother, Jackie Smith; and Timmy Musselman.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, David Michael Batross.

No calling hours or services will be held at this time. Per Sarah’s wishes, a caring cremation will be held through DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home.
