Wells Thorin Shepherd gained his Angel Wings September 27, 2021 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, peacefully surrounded by family. After showing courage at his never ending doctor’s appointments and hospital stays, he is finally able to rest safe in the arms of Jesus.
He was born January 3, 2021 in Zanesville, son of Dillon Shepherd and Michaila (Riley) Shepherd. Wells loved to play with balloons and being outside looking at trees. He loved his binkies, rattles, and special blue squid. He loved to flirt with nurses at the hospital and put smiles on many people’s faces. Everyone loved his Mohawk of curls, which was the envy of all the ladies.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Rod (Maureen) Riley, Joe (Penny) Shepherd; great-grandparents, Ed (Connie) Hill, Patricia (Dan) Riley, Ralph Shire, Donna (Bill) Hill, Helen Shepherd; aunt Kate (Blaine) Klaus; uncle Colton Riley; cousin Riggs Klaus; many great-aunts, great-uncles, and second cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Thursday, September 30, 2021 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place at 12:00 PM with Jamie Harrop officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Wells Thorin Shepherd for Harel-Yoon Syndrome research.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the help and support from the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff and for all the prayers from family and friends.
