Victor Leroy Howe

Victor Leroy Howe, 72 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on November 12, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on February 3, 1952, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late John D. Howe and Lillian Louise (Holbert) Howe. Vic served as a mold repairer at Owens Illinois/ Brockway Glass for over 45 years, where he retired. He loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports and golfing. Above all, he loved spending his time with his family and loved ones.

Victor is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cheryl (Mautz) Howe; son, Victor Howe; daughter, Shonda Mustafa; 7 grandchildren: Treg Sanders, Jadae Sanders, Derek Grandstaff, Rayne Newman, Ryein Newman, Lucas Lovelace, Liam Lovelace; 5 great-grandchildren: Jayelle, Lamont, Lane, Kinsley, Jamarion; special friends, John Alexander, Virgil Johnson, Herbie Lashley; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lindsay Howe; 3 brothers: William “Winky” Curtis, John Howe, Clarence “Bear” Simmons; 7 sisters: Rita Howe, Shell Wiseman, Vanessa Howe-Harrison, Carolyn “Tony” Mann, Rebecca Johnson, Susan Howe, and Edith Howe.

Calling hours will be held on Friday November 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 7:00 PM. A dignified cremation will take place following services.
