Shelli Jo Barry

Shelli J. Barry, 53, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at the Beckett House of New Concord surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 2, 1973, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of Steve Smith and Vicki (Baesel) Smith. Shelli was a graduate of Philo High School in 1991 and a member of the Cornerstone South Family Life Church. She was an avid Ohio State fan, her favorite animal was an otter, and she always loved the beach.

Shelli is survived by her 4 children: Maigan (Kaden Mayle) Barry, Kyle Barry, Branden Barry, and Michael “Joey” Barry; parents, Steve Smith and Vicki (Baesel) Smith; 2 grandchildren: Kaden Barry and Kylie Downey; sister, Jill (Travis Lemasters) Smith-Bonifant; nephews, Steven Bonifant and Daxxton Bonifant; nieces, Alisen (Joey) Bateson, Elli Shafer, Bexley and Aylea, Oakley Bonifant; and a special dog, Puppy.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandma, Shirley Sagle; paternal grandparents, Bill and Carol Smith; and uncle, Wayne Baesel.  

Calling hours will be held on Monday June 29, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 8:00 PM with her father, Pastor Steve Smith officiating. A dignified cremation will take place following services.
