Russell "Rusty" Hardy Sr. Obituary

Russell “Rusty” Lee Hardy Sr., 59 of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023, at OSU Wexner Center.

He was born on June 13, 1963, in Cambridge, Ohio, to the late Russell Hardy and Grace P. (Ault) Gill-Hardy. He worked at Polk’s Junkyard for many years. In his spare time, he loved working on cars and trucks. He could repair anything. He will be remembered as “everyone’s mechanic”, always willing to be a helping hand; he was a friend to everyone.

He is survived by his son, Russell “Little Rusty” Hardy Jr.; brother, Randall (Frieda) Hardy; special niece, Kathy (Danny) Hoffer; special nephews, Jasper Hoffer, David Roberts of Frankford, Germany; several other nieces, nephews, cousins; brother-in-law, Russell Roberts; and special friends, Tom and Kathy Robertson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jodi Gill; and sister, Grace Ann Roberts.

Calling hours will be held on Monday April 10, 2023, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday April 10, 2023, at 6:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating services. A dignified cremation will be held following services. Rusty will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
