Russell A Roberts

Russell A. Roberts, 84, of Zanesville, passed away on May 31, 2026, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

He was born on May 24, 1942, in Ohio, son of the late Earl Evan Roberts and Pauline (Barker) Roberts. Russ was the Director of Zanesville City Cemeteries and later the Head Greenskeeper at Green Valley Golf Club for over 27 years, where he retired. He enjoyed landscaping, tinkering in the garage, and home repairs with his daughter. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his movies and listening to classic music.

Russ is survived by his children, David (Tatiana) Roberts of Germany and Kathy “Kat” (Danny) Hoffer of Zanesville; grandchildren, Jasper Hoffer, Luca Roberts, and Dominic Roberts; 2 sisters: Betty Shaffer and Shirley Harris; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; special cat, Audrey.  

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Grace (Gill) Roberts; daughter, Cindy Roberts; siblings, Ronald “Bubby” Roberts, Ralph Roberts, Judy Goff, Carolyn Bethel; brothers-in-law, Herb Goff, Raymond Shaffer and Delvin Harris.

Per Russell’s wishes, a dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home.
