Ronald “Ron” Roger Paynter, 58 of Zanesville, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence.
He was born July 22, 1962 in Zanesville, son of Wilma Rose Paynter (Nicholson) and the late Robert R. Paynter.
Ron was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting anything from deer to mushrooms and ginseng. He never knew a stranger and had too many friends to count. He was a handyman with a heart of gold and enjoyed helping family and friends with anything that needed fixed. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He worked as a Power Lineman/Groundhand for T.S.O., Inc. for many years before taking an early retirement.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Brittany (Brad) West; son, Joseph (Britany) Dolen; brothers, Robert (Valerie) Paynter, William (Melodie) Paynter, John (Baranda) Paynter, David Paynter; sisters, Shirley (Dale) Johnson; grandchildren, Seth, Landon, Carsyn, Kyleigh, Aydrian, Kenzye, Bradley; hunting buddy, Mike Myers; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Paynter, Roy Paynter, Richard Paynter; sisters, Carol Wolfe, Susan Shriner.
Calling hours will be held at 1:00-2:00 PM on Saturday May 1, 2021, where a Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 PM at DeLong-Baker and Lanning Funeral Home. A private family burial at Dresden Cemetery will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses. DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
