He was born on September 11, 1932, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Robert Lee Hetrick Jr. and Mabel Oretta (Snyder) Hetrick.

Rollin served in the Army, was an active contributor serving his community as a member of the American Legion, the VFW, The Masonic Lodge, and the Amrou Grotto. He was proud to serve on the board of the Muskingum County Soil and Water Conservation District. He was also an active member of the Muskingum Church in Nashport, Ohio.

Professionally he was an entrepreneur for most of his life. He owned and operated a SOHIO Dealership from 1955-1977. He owned and operated Green’s Tea Room, Restaurant & Tavern from 1977-1987. For over 5 decades, he successfully owned and managed a farm with livestock and crops. He worked for McHugh Dealership from 1989–1999. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. He also loved to play pool, cards, tell stories, stretch the truth, do the jitterbug and spend time with his adoring family.
