Roger L Johnson Jr.

Roger Leroy Johnson Jr., 41 of Zanesville, passed away on October 18, 2021 due to complications from a chronic illness.

He was born on March 24, 1980, in Zanesville, son of Rodger Leroy Johnson and Diane L. Corson. Roger worked at Nestle Purina. He was an avid cook, outdoorsman, artist, and musician. He loved to volunteer at the Christ Table, along with helping anyone. He never met a stranger and surely didn’t let anyone go hungry. He was loved by many. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and playing Magic the Gathering playing cards. He will always be remembered by his infectious laugh.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 12 years, Tessa Johnson; daughter, Syrenity Dennis;  brother, Daniel Johnson; sister, Heather (Ty) Hutchinson; grandchildren, Myla, 1 baby boy on the way; Nan (Dorothy Corson); nieces, Hailey (Kyle) Hobson, Zoey, Bexley, Emery; nephews, Hunter, Hayden, and Zander; father-in-law, Jeff Trimble; mother-in-law, Teresa (Zack) Thomas; sister-in-law, Tasha (Ryan) Benjamin; brother-in-law, Talon (Kelsey) Thomas; and his very special cats, Schimttens, Pickles, Gump, Gurdy, and Louie C.K.

Calling hours will be held on Friday October 22, 2021 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral home from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Services will be held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating.

DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home will be assisting Johnson family at this time.
