Rexanna S Fuentes

Rexanna S. (Yerian) Fuentes, 61 of Newark, always said she would have some questions to ask God when she got to Heaven. On September 6, 2022, she got to start asking her questions.

Rexanna was born on July 10, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Edward Fuentes of Newark, Ohio; her sons, Nicholas (Andrea) Fuentes of Union City, Indiana and Marshall Fuentes, of Columbus, Ohio; cousin, Lilly Mae Swick of Thornville, Ohio; her close friend, Courtney Robertson-Saum of Somerset, Ohio; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins; and most importantly, her cats, Skittles and Sugar Baby.

She was a 1979 graduate of West Muskingum School District. She later graduated from THE Ohio State University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in English and Public Relations. She went on to obtain a master’s degree in Special Education from Muskingum University. Rexanna taught as a substitute for the Lakewood Local School District for many years.

Rexanna was a loving and caring friend, aunt, and cousin, but most importantly, she was a wonderful wife and mother.

Her passion was canning, gardening, and crafting. She was also an avid and ferocious gardener and canner, who took pride in operating the Appalachian Gardening and Canning forum of Facebook.

As Rexanna was a gardening and flower enthusiast, we ask that in lieu of sending flowers to her services, please send flowers to your local nursing home or hospital in her remembrance.

Rexanna will be missed by ALL.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022 from 12:30 PM- 2:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home at 56 South 5th Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701, where services will be held at 2:00 PM with Karen Brantley officiating.
