Norma J. Sowers, 87 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022 at the Morrison House of Zanesville, Ohio.
She was born on October 6, 1934, in Crooksville, Ohio, daughter of the late Albert Brown and Margaret Dailey. She was a member of the Norvell Park Church of Christ in Zanesville for many years. Norma worked alongside her husband at Ben Sowers Aluminum for many years; she later worked at Essex Wire and Hall Pottery. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family and friends, cookouts, and spending time at the senior citizens center. She was well known and liked for singing on the loud speaker at K-Mart (North).
She is survived by her son, Daniel Sowers; daughter, Terri J. (Sowers) Audiss; brother, Albert (Valerie) Brown Jr.; sister, Mary Lou (Jeff) Mumford, Alberta “Toots” Sweeney; brother-in-law, Tim Moore; several nephews and nieces; and grandchildren, Ben, Canyon, and Danny.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Sowers; sister, Sally Moore; brother-in-law, Jim Sweeney
No calling hours or services will be held at this time. Per Norma’s wishes, a dignified cremation will take place. DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home is assisting the Sowers family with arrangements.
