Mary "Ruth" McNerney Thome

Mary “Ruth” McNerney Thome, 94, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on August 14, 1927, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Willard McNerney and Susanna Savage. After high school, Ruth attended college at Kentucky Christian College. She then went on to work many years as an office manager for a local collections agency. She was also a member of the Lake Superior Christian Church in Marquette, Michigan.

She is survived by her son, Bill (Cindy) Thome; daughter, Denise Thome; brothers, Rev. Lewis Gene McNerney, Grant (Debbie) McNerney; sisters, Carol Brasseur, Wilma (Dan) Wolfe; 2 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and a grandson.

There will be no calling hours or funeral at this time as dignified cremation has been chosen by the Thome family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter in memory of Ruth.
