Linda Lou Harris, 78, of Zanesville, passed away May 10, 2024, at her residence.
She was born May 16, 1945, in Zanesville, daughter of the late, Samuel Walter Shumate and Esther Parkinson Shumate. Linda volunteered at the Christ Table for over 10 years, she would give anyone the shirt off her back. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, WWE Wrestling, Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Braves, and watching her neighbors’ dog, Molly.
She is survived by her children, Marlene (Ralph Blake) Harris, Marsha (Drew Price) Harris, Edward B. Harris Jr., Samuel Walter Harris; sister Saundra Holbert; special nephew John Johnson; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward B. Harris Sr.; brothers, John Shumate, Gerald Shumate, Jerry Shumate, Bill Shumate, Clarence Shumate; sisters, Phyliss Tabler, Betty Johnson, Margaret Shumate, Ada Louise Shumate.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
