Kathryn M Chapman

Kathryn “Kathy” Chapman, 68, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at Altercare Nursing Home in Somerset.

She was born on July 5, 1957, in Newark, Ohio, daughter of the Paul Sands and Christina (Wisecarver) Sands. Kathy was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 29 in Zanesville, where she once served as President of the Women’s Aux. She worked as a Social Worker for over 30 years and later at Allwell Behavioral Health Services. Kathy loved reading and spending time with her family and loved ones.   

Kathy is survived by her husband of 16 years, Ronald Chapman; daughter, Lindsey Judson; father, Paul (Joyce Huntington) Sands; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; stepchildren, Melissa (Jerry) Clark, Kimberly (Paul Tyo) Mitton, Jason (Erin Tuttle) Chapman; sister, Sandy (Feras Alkawanleh) Sands; several nieces, cousins, and friends; and special cat, Boots.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Christina (Wisecarver) Sands; and brother, Edward Clyde Sands.

Per Kathy’s wishes, a dignified cremation will take place. She will be laid to rest at Wilson Cemetery in Newark, Ohio, at a later date.
