Jo Ann Mount

Jo Ann Longstreth Byers Mount, 83 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2022 at The Oaks of Bethesda of Zanesville, Ohio.

She was born on July 25, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Fred E. Longstreth and Gertrude Barnes Longstreth. Jo Ann retired from United Technologies after 34 years and later worked at McDonalds. She was also a member of Brighton Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed working with her crafts and making quilts for all her grandbabies. In her last days, she gave her life to Jesus and was looking forward to going home to her Lord and Savior.  

She is survived by her sons, Fred (Sandi) Byers, Terry (Joyce) Byers; daughters, Sylvonna (Vernon Jr.) Shearer, Pamela Byers; sister, Martha Hartman; eight grandchildren, Brooke Byers, Kaylie (Adam) Spangler, Brad (Carrie) Byers, Ryan (Brittany) Byers, Amanda Shearer, Kyle Shearer, Robert Byers, and Michael (Amanda) Taylor; and eleven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hayes; several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mount whom passed away on May 28, 1981; infant son, Eugene Byers; brothers, Eugene Longstreth, Harold “Gene” Barnes, Charles McManis, Carl Workman, Richard Longstreth; brother-in-law, Edgar Hartman.

Calling hours will be held on Monday June 6, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00- 8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Tuesday June 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ryan Byers officiating. Burial will follow services at Zanesville Memorial park Cemetery.
