Jeffrey E McGilton

Jeffrey “Jeff” E. McGilton, 72 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on November 14, 2025, at Adams Lane Care Center.

He was born on December 19, 1952, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Andy McGilton and Margaret (Abrams) McGilton. Jeff was a Catholic by faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Western Movies.

Jeff is survived by his 6 children: Jeff (Belinda) Hunter, Jeremy (Devin) McGilton, Margaret McGilton, Jesse McGilton, Dianne McGilton, Jolena Grether, Robert Shields; grandchildren, Devin Jerrells, Wesley Jerrells, Shane Flickinger, Patrick Flickinger, Heather Flickinger, Natalie Hopper, Trenton McGilton, Hailey McGilton, Kali McGilton, Alyssa Bland, Devon Hunter, Tony Newton, Kolton Shields, Cameron Shields, Bentley Shields, Gracie Shields, Legend McGilton, Jazlynn Jerrells, Chase Todd; several great-grandchildren; step children, Bobby Farmer and James Bailey; 5 siblings: Sherry McGilton, Jim McGilton, Bob McGilton, Terry McGilton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Bennett; son, Jeffy McGilton; grandsons, Jordan Carper and Trevor McConnell; brothers, Jack McGilton, Bill McGilton, and Chuck McGilton; and stepdaughter, Shannon Farmer.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will conclude services at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stovertown.
