Janice C Powell

Janice C. (Abbott) Powell, 81 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 9, 2022.

She was born on April 15, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Herbert Abbott and Ferma Jane Conner. Janice worked as a nurse’s aid before becoming a volunteer at the Salvation Army for many years. She amazed her family, as she was a 44 year breast cancer survivor.

She is survived by her two sons, Randy Abbott and James Powell Jr.; sister, Shirley Mautz; grandchildren, Jake Powell and Brandon Powell.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Delaine Abbott, Alvin Abbott, Paul Abbott; and sister, Jean Johnson.

Per Janice’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time.
