James "Jim" M Longfellow

James “Jim” M. Longfellow, 75 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 2, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on December 23, 1946, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of late Dwight Longfellow and Margaret Fisher. Jim was a veteran of the Army. He was always known to be very humble. He loved his morning coffee, gardening, and building things (like his computer). Above all, his favorite thing to do was skipping rocks and taking walks with his grandchildren and dog coco. Family was his everything. He will always be remembered as the superhero of the family.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Melissa) Longfellow; sisters, Shirley Paxtion , Rita (Dave) Ross; grandchildren, Jennifer Bocook, Osha Sharrer, Kayla Jackson, Jenna Krouskoupf, Kamron Longfellow, Braylon Longfellow; great-grandchildren, Malayah Hampton, La’niyah Rutter; special dog, Coco.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Dean Longfellow, Paul Longfellow, Kenny Longfellow; and sister, Ada Rush.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 6, 2022 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Thursday October 6, 2022 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Full military honors will be presented by The United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Burial will follow services at Williams Cemetery.
