James Robison Obituary

James (Addie) Robison, 95, of Zanesville, passed away December 1, 2023, at Genesis Morrison House.

He was born August 4, 1928, in Crooksville, son of the late, James C. Robison and Orlena Elizabeth Hicks Robison. He attended Crooksville High School, and went to Zanesville in 1948 to work for Frank Wayneburg’s Marathon Station on 6th Street. James made deposits at Citizens National Bank, where he met his wife to be Margaret (Newell) Robison. In 1950 he joined the National Guard & was stationed at Virginia Beach, Virginia.  In 1951 he & Margaret went to Maryland with their parents & were married March 2nd.  She went back to work at the bank in April. James went overseas to Germany for 1 year and then came back to work at Frank’s Texaco. In 1960 James became a dealer for SOHIO at Robison SOHIO at the corner of Wayne & Marrietta for 30 years in Zanesville.

James was a Korean War Veteran, serving from 1950-1952 in the United States Army.  He was a member of Central Trinity Methodist Church, Peerless Lodge No. 591 F&AM in Crooksville, OH.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Susan) Robison, Jim Robison, Dale (Lisa) Robison; daughter, Janice (Danny) Gee; grandchildren, Derek (Lindsay) Gee, Michelle (Jeremy) Tilton, J.R. Robison, Stetson Robison, Danny (Michelle) Robison, Diana (Doug) Campbell; brother, Fred Robison; sisters, Carol Eppley, and Judy Wentz; several great grandkids; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years,  Margaret Louise (Newell) Robison;  brother, Glen Robison; sister Marlene Barker.

Calling hours will be held on 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place at 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Dupler officiating. Burial will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio with full Military honors conducted by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW Post 1058.
