James Richard Gates Jr.

James Richard Gates Jr., 51, of Zanesville, passed away July 5, 2025, at Genesis Healthcare.

He was born February 5, 1974, in Zanesville, son of Hellen Roberts Gates, and the late James Richard Gates Sr.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Christy Gates; son Devon Hunter, RJ Radcliff; daughters, Andie Foit, Alex Mahon; sisters, Sherry Padgett, Brenda Jewell; grandchildren, Cooper, Parker, Theo, Riley, Addie, Eli, Everly.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister Sandy Radcliff.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place at 4:00 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating.  Cremation will follow services.
