Helen R. Paxton, 100 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 6, 2024, at the Morrison House of Zanesville.
She was born on August 16, 1923, in Fultonham, Ohio, daughter of the late Milton Winland and Ida Green. Helen attended Community FreeWill Baptist Church in Somerset. What made her most happy was making people laugh. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing games, working on puzzles, and spending time with her church family.
She is survived by her 4 children: Patricia Brooks, Nancy Kurtz, Robert Young, Roger Walters; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and her “adopted” daughter, Deb Nelson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Milton Winland Jr., Lenny Winland, Elmer Winland, Arthur Winland, Harley Winland; sisters, Jane Scanland, Evelyen Nettles; son-in-law, Bob Brooks.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday January 10, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong- Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow services at Fultonham Cemetery.
