Hazel A. McDonald, 80 of Zanesville, passed away on May 19, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
She was born on July 13, 1944, in London, England, daughter of the late Albert Pelling and Jean (Driver) Pelling. Hazel was a member of the Church of England. She worked as a cafeteria manager for Zanesville City Schools for over 25 years, where she retired. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Football fan and online QVC shopper. Hazel enjoyed shopping, gardening, and drinking tea in her spare time. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and loved ones.
Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” McDonald, 2 sons: Bobby (Kristy) McDonald, Richard (Deana) McDonald; son in law, Steve Keyes; 2 grandchildren that she helped raise, Eric (Christina) Keyes, Carley (Austin) Mosholder; 5 grandchildren: Heather (Chris) Merry, Chelsea (Max) Klink, Ian McDonald, Jake McDonald, Maddie McDonald; 12 great grandchildren: Carter, Seth, Drew, Boston, Tempy, Brayden, Amelia, Korben, Sawyer, Blaire, Gavin, Gunner; 2 brothers: Allen Pelling, Richard Pelling; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many special friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Keyes; 2 sisters: Judy Snelling and Jean Owens.
Per Hazel’s wishes, a dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday June 8, 2025, from 12:00 – 4:00 PM at the Eagles #302 of Zanesville.
