Gustav W. Peterson Jr.

Gustav W. Peterson Jr., 77, of Frazeysburg, passed away May 22, 2020 at Genesis Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born August 16, 1942 in Huntingdon, PA, son of the late Gustav W. Peterson Sr. and Anna Mae Walker.  He retired from the United States Navy and worked for Longaberger Company.  He was previously a guidance counselor at Rosecrans High School.  Gustav was an avid guitar player and in his day was a horseshoe pitcher.  In his younger days he played soccer and basketball. He was a college graduate of Spring Arbor College.

He is survived by the mother of his children and caregiver Donna Brooks Peterson; children, Gustav Peterson III, Valerie (Tad) Hunter; grandchildren, Brook Peterson, Allyson Peterson, Cheyenne Miller; five cats.

Calling hours will be held 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home services will be held at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Per family request all guests will be required to wear self-provided face coverings.  We ask anyone with flu like symptoms to refrain from attending services.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
