Glenda May Sowers, 87, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at the Highland Oaks Healthcare Center in McConnelsville.
She was born on June 10, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Thurman Cox and Betty (Gambill) Mohler. Glenda worked for Brockway Glass for over 30 years, where she retired. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and sewing.
Glenda is survived by her 2 brothers: James “Jim” Cox and Charles Cox; several niece, nephews, and cousins; and good friend, Paula Lemley.
In addition to her parents, Glenda is preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin Michael Sowers; husband, Bernard Sowers; brother, Junior Cox; and 2 sisters: Lilly McCarthy and Myrtle Sue Miller.
Calling hours will be held on April 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Kevin Franklin officiating. Burial will conclude services at Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville.
