Gerald “Jerry” Romine, 79, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at Altercare Nursing Home in Zanesville.
He was born on July 11, 1946, in Advent, West Virginia, son of the late Charles R. Romine and Oleta F. Good. Jerry graduated from Philo High School in 1966 and was a veteran of the United States Army. In his past time, he enjoyed playing softball and basketball through his church. He loved going golfing and fishing with his best friend and brother, Glenn. Above all, Jerry enjoyed spending his time with his friends and family.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Kristy Romine; brother and best friend, Glenn (Marilyn) Romine; sister, Karen (Pat) Burkhart; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Caplinger; lifelong companion, Eva Spergin; and sister, Sharon Collins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Steve Harrop officiating. Full military honors will be presented by The United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Burial will conclude services at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
