Rev. Gary Allen Sharp, 63 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born on June 08, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, son of Frances Speakman Sharp and the late Rev. Thomas W. Sharp.
Gary was a member of The Anchor Church, where he served as part of the Ministerial Team. He also served as a Pastor in Minerva, Ohio; Grampian, Pennsylvania and most recently in Cambridge, Ohio at The Anchor Church, formerly known as Crossroad Ministries for 14 years. Gary served as the district Sunday School Director for the Ohio District United Pentecostal Church International. He was a licensed Minister for the U.P.C.I. for over forty years. He worked as a bus driver for Cambridge City Schools and most recently as a maintenance tech for Park National Bank.
Gary loved spending time outside, as he loved to fish, BBQ, and work in his garden. His most favorite and important thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl Sharp, whom he married November 18, 1978; children, Amanda Sharp, Erick (April) Sharp, Jordan (Brittany) Sharp; sisters, Sandra (Ronald) Williams, Paula Rize; grandchildren, Nathaniel Blankenship, Chace Sharp, Ian Sharp, Daphne Sharp; father in-law, Rex Honn; mother in-law, Joan Honn; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on May 1, 2021 at The Anchor Church on 1365 Chamberlin Street in Zanesville, Ohio, where services will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Aaron Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
