Dwight Bonifield Obituary

Dwight Slater Bonifield, 82, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at his family's home.

He was born on June 6, 1944, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Glenn Eugene Bonifield and Mary Alice (Slater) Bonifield. Dwight was a veteran of the United States Army after 22 years of service, proudly serving as a Master Sgt (MSG). Dwight was a 32nd Degree Mason MSA, serving as the Master Cosmetologist at the Valley of Cambridge AASR for many years. He worked as an Electronics Technician at the Newark  Airforce Defense Base, where he retired. Dwight enjoyed his amateur Radio (HAM), camping, motorcycling, and traveling from state to state in his motorhome with his wife, Barb.

Dwight is survived by his 3 children: Chad Bonifield, Yvette Bonifield, Joelle Marlow; 4 grandchildren: Justin Bonifield, Kayla Bonifield, Brady Marlow, and Brett Marlow; great granddaughter, Sophie; many special friends and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Dwight is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Bonifield.

A dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by the Blue Lodge on Thursday June 25, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, where services will be at 7:00 PM. Dwight will be laid to rest with his wife, Barb, at New Hope Cemetery.
