Donald "Donnie" Bay

Donald “Donnie” Bay, 68 of Nashport, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2025, at his longtime residence.

He was born on May 31, 1957, in Newark, Ohio, son of the late Donald D. Bay and Elsie M. (Woodruff) Bay. Donnie was a graduate of Tri Valley High School, class of 1978. He attended First United Pentecostal Church in Zanesville. He worked for many years, self-employed in carpentry and construction. He enjoyed eating at Juanita’s Restaurant and loved bringing everyone Donald’s Donuts every morning. In his spare time, he liked watching his TV shows, Cheaters and Cops. Above all, he loved spending his time with his family and loved ones.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Laura (Swingle) Bay; 6 children: Donald Bay Jr., Tiffany Leal, April Jones, Anthony Wade, Kayla (Jacob) Roberts, Darrin Wade; grandchildren, Navaeh Wade, Malicah Nixon, Caroline Wade, Nathaniel Wade, Darrin Wade Jr., Michelle Starner, Shanta Jones, Breanna Jones, Levi Jones; sisters, Karen (Mike) Evans, Donna Willis, Joyce (Jack) Potts, Betty Jane Bay, Kitty Weaver; sister-in-law, Karen Bay; special nephews, Devin and Mason Clark;  many other nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Venelia Tracy;  special friends, Steve Thomas, Orville Paxton, Herbie Newton; and special furry friend, Serenity.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin daughters; 3 siblings, Judy Brennan, David Bay, and Bob Bay; and father-in-law, Gale Swingle.  

Calling hours will be held Monday September 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Cottrell officiating. A dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home following services.
