Donald L. Thompson, 82, of Zanesville, passed away October 11, 2021, at Genesis Morrison House.
He was born December 8, 1938, in New Philadelphia, OH, son of the late, Walter C. Thompson and Pauline Crum Thompson. Donald L. Thompson was a Real Estate Broker in Ohio & California for over 40 years. He also was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #495 for many years. Don was devoted to family. He loved helping others, a challenge, movies, and reading. Don was instrumental in the establishment of the South Zanesville branch library.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Karen E. Thompson; daughters, Gaye Salazar, Tracey (Frederick) Evans, Lisa (Dave) Allen, Lori (Jeremy) Wyatt; son, Troy Thompson; brother, Ronald (Jan) Thompson; sister, DiAnn (Lloyd) Douglas; granddaughters, Feather (Matthew) Webb, Alexandra Salazar, Abby Oates, Amanda (Robert) Smith, Lauren Wyatt; grandsons, Brandon Norris, Zackary Thompson, Nathaniel Michaud, Troy (Jordin) Harmer, Adam James, Anthony (Britney) James, Alex (Alisha) Wyatt; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gale Anne Thompson; son, Troy Alan Harmer; sister, JoAnn Houser; grandchildren, Terri Joelle Thompson, Alexis Ann Thompson, and John Nicolas Salazar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Monday, October 18, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 945 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin Ralko as Celebrant. Burial of cremains will follow at Poplar Forks Cemetery.
