Diana “Miss D” Joy Wimer, 59 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on February 4, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on March 9, 1965, in Fostoria, Ohio, daughter of the late Floyd Wesney and Barbara Dupler. Diana graduated from New Lexington High School in 1983. She was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1983-1988 and later worked at Walmart in Zanesville and Newark for 20 years, where she served as Assistant Manager. Diana was an avid sports fan, cheering on her Ohio State Buckeyes, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Indians. In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, but above all, she loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
Diana is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Scott Wimer; daughters, Kassandra (Tyler Lichtner) Brown Lichtner, Shannon (Kevin) Huhn; son, Anthony Wimer; grandchildren, Aaniyah, Aaleiyah, Aaliviyah, Mariyah, Tyanna, Abbey, Axel, Ava, Korbin, Andrew; brother, Andras Michael Wesney; sister, Wendy (Scott) Gordon; several nieces, nephews, cousins; special friend, Miss Carolyn Walker; sister-in-law, Susan Knoll; brother-in-law, Steven Wimer; special dogs, Sparky and Miley.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Wesney; sister, Miriam Wesney; special dog, Riley.
Per Diana’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. A dignified cremation will take place.
