Dawn Christman

Dawn Christman, 63 of Zanesville, passed away on May 20, 2023, at the Morrison House of Zanesville, after a courageous fight with cancer.

Dawn was born May 25, 1959, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Paul and Nellie (Harmon) Christman. Dawn was a member of the Zanesville Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #302. She worked for 21 years at Essex Wire on Ceramic Avenue in Zanesville and later retired in January of 2023 from The Dollar General Warehouse, after 22 years of service.

Dawn is survived by her brother, Eugene Christman of Lake Wales, Florida; sister, Terri (Bill) Spires of Alabama; niece, Jennifer Sullivan; nephews, Jason Christman, Ryan Spires; several great nephews; aunts, Barb Christman, Jeanette Hennessy, Debbie Irwin; uncles, Charlie Harmon, Jim Irwin; a host of cousins; special friends, Tami and Al Porter; and many other friends.

In addition to her parents, Dawn is preceded in death by her brother, Russell Christman of West Virginia.

Anyone who knew Dawn knew she was an avid fan of NASCAR, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Browns. She also enjoyed camping, golfing, horseshoes, and darts. Oh yes, and an “occasional sarsaparilla”.

Calling hours will be held on Monday May 22, 2023, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at DeLong -Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. The Eagle’s Auxillary #302 will conduct services on May 22, 2023, at 7:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. The family will be accepting visitors on Tuesday May 23, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, where services will be held at 11:00 AM DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home with Don Harris officiating. A dignified cremation will take place following services. Graveside services will be announced at a later date.
