Clarice Eileen Bates

Clarice E. Bates, 87 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2021 at the Morrison House.

She was born in Zanesville May 11, 1933, daughter of the late Elmer E. Watson and Rachel Shearer Watson. She retired from Benco Pet Foods. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Charles) Miller; sons, Donald (Shantay) Bates, Henry (Karen) Bates; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Bates; son Steve Bates; brothers, Elmer Watson Jr., William Watson; sisters, Violet Rushing, Frances Apperson and Donna Sprankel .

Calling hours will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday May 11, 2021 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home where services will take place at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
