Cheryl Diane (Pierce) Burkett

Cheryl Diane (Pierce) Burkett, 70 of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2021, at Genesis Morrison House with family by her side.

Cheryl was born September 2, 1951, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late William and Nell Pierce. She was a devoted wife and mother.  Cheryl liked to work in the yard and take care of her flowers.  She liked sitting on the back porch watching her Grandchildren and Great-nephews play.  Cheryl loved deer and collected anything and everything with deer on it.   In her earlier years, she also liked to go camping, bake cakes and sell Home Interior.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Cheryl is survived by her loving family, Daughter’s Gaynelle (Wayne) Coen, Alena (Tyran) Pemberton, Rodena (David) Potts.  Son Damon (Lisa) Burkett. Step-Daughter Monica (Mike) Dingey. Step-Son Greg Burkett. Brothers Daryl (Sandy) Pierce, Dana Pierce, Delbert (Nancy) Pierce. Sisters Pamela Daniels, Gayla (Rodger) Lyons.  9 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, 7 Step-Grandchildren, 7 Step-Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles (Buddy) Burkett, Step-Sons Jeffrey Burkett, and Rickie Burkett, a brother William Pierce, a Granddaughter Atasia Burkett and a Great-Granddaughter Alivia Gentile. 

Cheryl wanted to give special thanks to Brothers Dana and Delbert, Niece Kristie Fletcher, and Nephew Dustin Pierce for all their loving care. 

Also, thank you to Genesis Hospice of Zanesville and Pastor Tim Gifford.

Calling hours will be 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday, November 21, 2021, at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
