Carol Marlene Stotts

Carol Marlene Stotts, 83, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2021 at the Morrison House of Zanesville.

She was born on July 23, 1938, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Freeman Shimer and Catherine Sweitzer Shimer. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Ronald C. (Bill) Stotts. Carol was a member of St. Nicholas Church and retired from United Tech after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and taking care of her cats in her spare time.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Dupler, Doug (Patty) Stotts, Gayla (Rhod) Carder, Melinda Stotts; grandchildren, Rochelle (Bob) Hughes, Malissa (Mike) Crawford, Roger Miller, Susan Dupler, Cory (Tosha) Dupler, Brian (Lynn) Stotts, Shanda (Paul) Daniels, Chris Stotts, Shannon (Kevin) Corder, April (Marlon) Barnett, Adam (Krystal) Carder, Morgan Miller, Erica Stotts, Hope Miller, Carrie Vaughn, Ronnie Vaughn, Jade Vaughn, Amanda Vaughn, Jamie Brown, Jennifer Gall, Stevie Vaughn, Cory Dupler ; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Gary Stotts; daughter, Deborah Vaughn; son-in-law, Robert Dupler; brothers, Donald Shimer, Eugene Shimer, Larry Shimer, David Shimer Sr.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 21, 2021 from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. Burial will follow services at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio.
