Carol Louise Kitchen, 90, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at 9:02 a.m.
She was born December 13, 1930 in Lancaster, Ohio, the daughter of the late Homer and Bertha (Byrne) Daubenmire. Carol became a member of First English Lutheran Church at the age of 8 making her the longest standing member in the congregation. She was active in Guild I and Sara Circle of the church. She was a member of the Fairfield County Heritage Association and chaired the 1979 annual Tour of Homes. Carol loved to play the piano. In her youth she would accompany her dad while he played the fiddle at barn dances. She was active in all her daughter’s groups and activities including being leader of Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls. The most important thing to Carol in life was her family.
She was employed by the following companies, Anchor Hocking, Ben Kitchen Termite & Pest Control, where she ran the office of the family business, receptionist for Dr. Ralph Romaker, United McGill and Paramount Financial Group from which she retired in 2006.
She is survived by her daughters Jan L. (Joe) Lanning, of Newark, OH, Julie A. Iser, and Jennifer S. (Brett) Thompson, both of Lancaster, OH, Joyce C. Alley-Plott of Heath, OH, Joanna M. Fosnaugh of Bexley, OH and Jody E. (Russ) Buxton of San Antonio, TX. Two brothers, Edward K. Daubenmire of Pleasantville, OH and Ronald L. Daubenmire of Canfield, OH. Stepdaughters Sharon (Albert) Cook of Lewis Center, Oh and Rebecca L. (Randy) Dixon of Mims, FL. Eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Benjamin A. Kitchen, brother Leonard E. Daubenmire, grandson Zachary W. Alley, stepgrandson Patrick C. Cook, sons-in-law Robert F. Fosnaugh and Daniel K. Plott.
Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 and one hour prior to service at First English Lutheran Church, 220 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, OH where services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021. Officiating will be Pastor Brian Dillahunt. Interment will be at Forest Rose Cemetery.
