Brenda D. Poulton, 62 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 4, 2025, at the Genesis Morrison House of Zanesville.
She was born on July 12, 1962, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Miles Edward Newton and Frances Hiett. Brenda was a graduate of Zanesville High School in 1980. She worked for Imlay’s Florist for over 18 years. She enjoyed crafting and baking. Above all, she loved spending her time with her grandchildren.
Brenda leaves behind her 2 children: Keely (Randy Hartley) Poulton and Michael (Tiffany Eckelberry) Poulton; brothers, Gary (Cindy) Hiett, Duncan (Mary) Devold; 3 grandchildren: Evan Poulton, Karrah Dunlap, Danyen Dunlap; great-grandchild, Xaidyn Roupe; special friend, Robin Hale; many special friends at Imlay’s Florist; special cousin, Bernard “Corney” Brownfield; brother-in-law, Larry Blair.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, James “Jake” Poulton; 2 brothers: Gary Newton and Butch Newton; 2 sisters: Sherry Blair and Wanda Newton.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Keith Wyatt officiating. Per Brenda’s wishes, a dignified cremation will take place following services.
