Bernard "Bernie" R Cottrell

Bernard “Bernie” R. Cottrell, 68 of Zanesville, passed away at his residence on October 13, 2023.

He was born on June 5, 1955, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Marvin Cottrell and Norwesta Sellars. Bernie was a handyman for many years. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering for his Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Ohio State Buckeyes. In his free time, he loved to be outdoors, fishing.

He is survived by his brothers, George Cottrell, Marvin “Rick” Cottrell, Rex (April) Cottrell of Chandlersville, Marvin McGee of Nebraska; Aunt, Violet Wallace; nephews, James Cottrell, Thomas Cottrell & Family of Alabama; niece, Michelle Moody; uncle, Calvin Cottrell; cousins, Vickie (Daniel) Long, Chuck Wallace, Lee Goldsmith; companion and best friend, Missy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Cottrell; sister, Regina Cottrell.

No calling hours or services will be held at this time. A dignified cremation will take place.
