Belinda Sue Sowers-Hayes, 62, of Zanesville, passed away August 19, 2018 at Adams Lane Care Center after a short battle with ALS.
She was born September 17, 1955 in Zanesville, daughter of the late, Wayne Hayes and Juanita Mahon Hayes. Belinda was a volunteer at the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center and devoted her life to her pets.
She is survived by her sons, Brent (Colette) Carpenter of Colorado, Ian Hayes of Zanesville; siblings, Diana (Joe) Braidic of Pandora, OH, Wayne (Joyce) Hayes Jr. of Elyria, OH, Darryl (Barbara) Hayes of Tucson, Arizona, Venetia (Bob) Shultz of Zanesville, Melvin (Kim) Hayes of Tucson Arizona, Kevin Hayes of Tucson, Arizona, Brice Hayes of Zanesville; grandchildren, Tayvious and Aviah Hayes; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leo (Mildred Havens) Hayes, Charles (Estella Mahon) Norton, brother-in-law, Bob Shultz.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. A dignified cremation will follow.
