Barbara L Carr

Barbara L. (Crippen) Carr, 84, formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 21, 2023, at her daughter’s home.

She was born on January 24, 1939, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Ethemer Crippen and Fern (Frye) Crippen. In her spare time, she enjoyed talking on the phone.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Gee, Barbara (Thomas) Kaley; sons, James Hanning Jr., Edward Hanning; sister, Nancy Gertler; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her partner, James “Jim” Hanning; daughter, Kristine “Susie” Hanning; twin daughters, Bonnie and Connie; brother, Charles Crippen; and sister, Jeanie Robinson; son-in-law, Daniel Gee.   

Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 23, 2023, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Thursday March 23, 2023, at 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio.
