Audrey Mae (McDonald) Davis

Audrey Mae McDonald Davis, 94, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on the morning of November 12, 2022, at her residence at her home.

Born November 18, 1927, in Zanesville, Ohio, Audrey was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Audrey and her husband Fred were longtime members of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Zanesville.  The couple were married on February 9, 1946, and were the proud parents of five children.  They were lifetime residents of Zanesville.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Wayne, and Elizabeth Love McDonald; her husband, Wheeler “Fred” Davis; daughter, Ellen Annetta Davis; son, Jackie Wayne Davis; one sister, Mary Young; a son-in-law, James E. Tucker, two grandchildren, Stacey Renee Davis and Samuel Branden Davis, and a great grandson, Cooper Davis.

She is survived by a son, Frederick Wheeler (Donna) Davis of Brandon, Mississippi; two daughters, Karen Ann Tucker of Zanesville, Ohio, and Audrey Mae Davis of Nashport, Ohio; friend, Carolyn Wilson of Nashport, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Charlene Mitchell Davis of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren:  Tisha Tucker-Cash, Stephanie Slone, Brent Markley, Matthew Davis, Hope Coen, and Aaron Davis; eleven great-grandchildren:  Ireland Cash, Luke Davis, Griffin Davis, Owen Davis, Macy Markley, Braxton Markley, Braylon Markley, Milo Slone, Ted Slone, Joseph Slone, Gracelynn Coen, Jackson Coen; two brothers, Larry Boyce, Tommy McDonald; two sisters, Sarah Edwards, Georgiana McDonald; and her best friend and faithful companion, her little dog, Lilly Rose.

Calling hours and visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at DeLong, Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 South 5th Street, Zanesville, Ohio, from 11 am – 1 pm.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at DeLong, Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 South 5th Street, Zanesville, Ohio, at 1 pm, with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. 

The family wishes to thank Genesis Hospice for their outstanding care of Audrey.  To the Hospice nurses, caregivers, volunteers, staff, Chaplain Tim Patton, Dr. Shade and special caregiver, Cathy Davis, we are so grateful for the genuine compassion and kindness you bestowed upon our Mom.
