Walter Lee”Rocky” Rockwell

Walter Lee”Rocky” Rockwell, 85, of Zanesville, passed away March 11, 2018 at Genesis Hospital, after complications from an auto accident.

He was born March 28, 1932 in West Virginia, to the late William Rockwell and Gladys Ridenour Rockwell.  He retired from McGraw Edison and worked for National Plumbing.  He attended The Anchor Church and was a fifty-four year member of the Eagles Aerie #302.  He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and playing cards at the Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Guest Rockwell, whom he married September 21, 1968; son, William Rockwell; daughters, Kelly Omen, Karen Bay, Kristy (Bob) McDonald, Sharon (Roy) Massey; grandchildren, Mandy (Gary) Clark, Marcy (Josh) Caudill, David (Keri) Bay, Heather (Chris) Merry, Chelsea (John) Williams, Haylee Rockwell, Austin Omen, Kasey, Katelyn, Hannah and Madison Rockwell; great-grandchildren, Devin (Catelyn), Samantha, Mason, Shelley Clark, Tyler Bay, Baylee Caudill, Jaxson, Tenley Bay, Carter, Drew Merry, Boston, Seth Williams, Sophia Loeffler, Brayden, Ka’Mia Deeds, two great-great-grandchildren, Cooper and Ryleigh Clark; beloved dog, Blu.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters; son-in-law, David Bay.

Calling hours will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where Eagles services will take place at 7:00 p.m. Additional calling hours will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 where services will take place at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Irville Cemetery.
