Ray “Red” Hoy, 96, of Zanesville, passed away September 24, 2017 at Genesis Hospital.
He was born August 28, 1921 in Logan, OH, son of the late William Hoy and Anna Stivison Hoy. He was a veteran in the United States Army, serving two tours during WWII. Ray worked for Robison Ransbottom Pottery in Roseville, OH. He loved to square dance at the Senior Center and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Ray (Cheri) Hoy Jr., William (Sandra) Hoy, John (Deborah) Hoy; brothers, Frank (Patti) Hoy, John Hoy; sister, Anna Mae Woliver; grandchildren, Donna Ann Hoy, Kimi (Kenneth) Wood, Stephanie (Brian) Carletti; four great-grandchildren, extended family, Leroy (Denise) Brown, Brittney and Brandon Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Connell Hoy; siblings, Pearl, William, Mary, Lelah, Martha Anne, Paul, Eugene.
Calling hours will be held 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with full military honors conducted by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29. A dignified cremation will take place following the service.
