James L. Dawkins 82, of Zanesville, passed away June 21, 2017 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
He was born December 15, 1934 in Lowell, OH the son of the late James and Mildred (Okey) Dawkins.
James was a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S Navy serving in Vietnam. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum as an electrician. He was a life member of the VFW, NRA, American Legion, and the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Zanesville and Crooksville Eagles.
He is survived by his son, James Dawkins of Florida; daughter Rebbecca Christian of Florida; sister, Francine Lynn of Zanesville, three grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, Heddy Dawkins; brothers, Eugene and Jerry Dawkins; granddaughter, Megan.
No services will be observed a dignified cremation will take place.
