Edsel L Shaver

Edsel L. Shaver, 91, of Zanesville, went home to be with his Lord on July 3, 2017 at his home following a prolonged illness.

He was born September 11, 1925 in McConnelsville, Ohio, son of the late, Hillis Shaver and Annie Scott Shaver.

Edsel was a founding elder at Maranatha Bible Church where he served for 56 years.  He also served as Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday Teacher.  He retired from McGraw Edison in 1988. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Madeleine (Smith) of 66 years; three sons, Mark (Kathy) Shaver of Evensville, TN; Paul (Harriett) Shaver of Philo, OH; and David (Cindi) Shaver of Madison, AL; a sister, Josephine Skerrye of Peoria, IL and a brother, Eugene Shaver of Zanesville; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Miller.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Maranatha Bible Church, 2400 Chandlersville Road, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Dale McCallister and Pastor Chris Brown officiating.  Burial will take place at Zanesville Memorial Park.
