David (Dave) Dicks

David (Dave) Dicks, 56, a resident of South Zanesville went to meet his Heavenly Father on Saturday November 9, 2019 at Riverside Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Dave was born to the late William “Bill” Dicks Sr. and the late Barbara “Barb” Dicks.

Dave took pride in his work, his family, his dog Trixie and was a true friend.  He was into politics and loved to be part of a good debate.  He was also an adamant Pittsburg Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Dave is survived by his significant other, Christy Kinder; sons, Ryan Dicks of South Zanesville, David “Chris” (Michelle) Dicks Sr. and Bradley Dicks both of Zanesville.  He is survived by 8 grandchildren: Braden, Avery, Kobe Dicks, Grayde Cable, Bailie Dicks, David Dicks Jr., Achaia Walker and Addison Kennedy. Brothers: William “Bill” (Trina) Dicks Jr. of Marion, Ohio, Stephen G (Steve) “Dicks” Norman and Jeffrey “Jeff” (Phyllis) Dicks, His Best Friend and Companion, his puppy/human, Trixe.  He was also survived by Nieces, Nephews and too many friends to mention.

In addition to his parents he is preceded death by his Soul Mate, his wife of 35 years, Yvette L. (Newsome) Dicks, His “Brown Eyed Girl”, Brothers: Bryan and Richie Dicks, A daughter in Love Samantha Jo Fleming.

Per Dave’s request he was cremated and will be buried with his Brown Eyed Girl.  The family still needs help raising the money to help make this possible.

There will be a Memorial to celebrate Dave’s life here on earth Saturday January 4, 2020 in the Fellowship Hall at Cornerstone Church 4509 Salt Creek Road, Duncan Falls, Ohio, with Judy Chambers officiating.

We will have a gathering from 12pm to 1pm with the service being at 1pm.  Afterwards there will be food and socializing, we hope everyone can stick around and share some memories with his family.
