Betty Jane (Mason) Rambo

Mrs. Betty Jane Mason Rambo, age 90, of Zanesville, was called to the Lord and reunited with her beloved husband, of sixty-four years, Bill Rambo and family members on January 9, 2018.  Betty was being well cared for by Hospice of Central Ohio at Willow Haven Skilled Nursing.

She was born September 25, 1927 in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late, George Mason and Edna Hutchison Mason.

Having lost her parents at an early age, Betty went to live with her uncle, Charles (Scotty) and her aunt, Margaret Laird in Webster Groves, Missouri, where she graduated from high school.  She returned to Zanesville, taking the position as runner at the Times Recorder.  Betty also worked as a key punch operator at General Electric in New Concord, and McGraw Edison until her retirement. 

Betty was known for delicious meals and pies that she made. Betty and Bill were also known for their keen card playing abilities.  One of their favorite past times, was taking senior trips and traveling to see family across the United States.  She attended Fair Oaks Baptist Church.   

Betty and Bill were married on February 23, 1946.  She was a devoted loving mother to five children, Janice Meiners of Campobello Island, NB Canada, Peggy Williams of Rio Rancho, NM, Carol Fraunfelter, Bill (Nancy) Rambo II, Rick (Peggy) Rambo all of Zanesville; she was a loving grandmother to four wonderful grandchildren, Kelley Williams, Jamie Mirgon, Nikki Ring, Kayla Atkinson and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2010; sons-in-law, Jim Meiners, David Williams and Danny Fraunfelter.     

Calling hours will be held 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Shoemaker officiating.  Burial will follow at Poplar Forks Cemetery.
