Although Betty was confined to a wheelchair in her later years, when she was younger she was very active, enjoying skiing, swimming, tennis, and golf, and traveling extensively both in the United States and overseas.

Betty attended church services held by the Pickerington Church of the Nazarene at The Abbington of Pickerington, the assisted living facility where she resided most recently. She was also a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Pickerington.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Ernest Lofgren, to whom she was married for 56 years; infant daughter Victoria Jean Lofgren; son-in-law Edward Arthur Deering; and brother Jacques DuBois.
