Obituary
Sara A. McDaniel, 93 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2023, at the Oaks of Bethesda.
She was born on June 27, 1929, in Sonora, Ohio, to the late Carl Birkhimer and Nelly (Sines) Birkhimer. Sara was a member of the VFW Post #1058 and the Moose Lodge of Zanesville. She worked at American Match Company for 20 years and later worked at Essex Wire for 11 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking vacations to Florida and Myrtle Beach with her sister, Kay and her husband, Harry.
She is survived by her sons, Allen (Marsha) Griffin, David (Mary) Dale; brother, Dick Birkhimer; sister, Kay Farley; grandchildren, Eric, Erin, Kenny, Tammy, Michael; great-grandchildren, Walker, Sarah, Natalie, and Griffin.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry McDaniel; father of her son, Glenwood Griffin; brothers, Carlos Birkhimer, Gary Birkhimer, Bob Birkhimer; sisters, Betty (Jack) Roe, Norma (Bill) Snack, and Stella (Pude) Stotts.
Calling hours will be held on Friday March 24, 2023, from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday March 24, 2023, at 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Exman officiating. Burial will follow services at St. Paul Cemetery in Sonora, Ohio.
