What a wonderful service was planned for Sergeant Davis on his return back to the United States of America. May God bless your family and all those who took time to honor him. He was a true hero of the "Greatest Generation" and I am humbled to know we do not give up on finding those who helped make America the land of the free and home of the brave! Sgt Harold Davis and family. I played with friends till the street lights came on. I played baseball, football and kick the can. I graduated high school went to college, and served or country in the Middle East. I raised 3 boys, have 3 grand daughters and owned bussinesses got married, bought a house and went broke. I was able to have the freedom to do such because of men like my father and of you Sgt Davis. Thank you for giving up so much so i could enjoy so much!!!!! I'm glad your family can celebrate your life in peace now. Welcome home!!

John was my great Grandpa, my mother is Jean Ann, I really loved John as a grandpa and they both always had a big hug for me when I was little. May God be with the family as he can finally come home to rest! Harold gave me the freedom I have today and my family is thankful for his sacrifice.

My Uncle Harold has been my hero since I was a child. It is an honor to represent my father, Edgel Davis, in welcoming home his beloved brother. To be able to reunite Harold with his mother and father who loved him so much is a joy for our family. I only wish his parents and siblings were here to see all of this. Our gratitude goes out to everyone involved in honoring Harold's sacrifice for his country. This will be a day we will never forget. We love you Uncle Harold!

Thank you Sergeant Davis for making the extreme sacrifice for our country. I am so often intrigued by a wartime picture, or article, or perhaps a brief encounter and a memory from a Veteran. My heart weeps for those whom have family waiting on the return of an MIA or POW or Wounded in action. God has given Sgt Davis the honor of once again being in his so beloved country. His Mother will now rest with her son once again. Thank you Lord for such a blessing!

What an amazing, yet sad, tribute. Sgt. Davis is receiving a welcome home a hero deserves. A great honor for him, his family, and his fellow Americans who want to say thank you for your sacrifice. God Bless.

My family, Evert and Pauline, brother Tom, and myself, were next door neighbors to Johnny B for many years. My mother often told me how his parents grieved for their son. Harold was a true hero. God bless his family as he comes home to rest.

Thank you for your sacrifice Sergeant Davis, and welcome home.

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of --Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high un-trespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God".

Welcome Home Sgt. Davis. As a young girl I attended the same Free Methodist church as you attended. I never knew you nor your mother. However, your father was a wonderful man. His testimony was always of his love for Christ. I have thought of him often through out the years. Lela Stottsberry Adams
